hurling1The Harps Intermediate team booked their place in the semi-finals with a hard fought two point win over Timahoe on Saturday. With Timahoe getting off to a flying start, The Harps found themselves behind 0-6 to no score after twenty minutes. In the closing 10 minutes however, The Harps outscored their opponents 1-6 to a single point, the goal coming from Albert Townsend after great work from the forwards forced a turnover.
Timahoe started the second half strongly and went ahead by a point only for The Harps to play their best hurling of the day and reel off score after score and gallop into an 8 point lead. The Harps nearly threw the game away however, letting Timahoe in for 2 goals inside the last 10 minutes. Indeed, only for a remarkable save from goalie Peter Walsh at the death Timahoe would have won the game, but The Harps held on for a deserved two point win.

The team will play Trumera in the semi-final with the date, time and venue to be announced in the near future.
